There are two types of the root of philodendron plants. These leaves can grow 10 inches long, and the height of the plant can grow 20 feet. The height and size of the plant depend on the environment in which it is growing. It comes under the category of climbing philodendrons.

First, the roots which absorb nutrients from the soil are subterranean. Outdoor, these roots can reach lengths of upto 60 Feet. The aerial roots absorb their nutrients and water from their surroundings or environment; these are much smaller than the former ones.

It should not be below 15 degrees Fahrenheit. 65 to 78 degrees Fahrenheit temperature is ideal for its growth. Too much heat and less heat will affect the plant's growth. Heartleaf philodendrons can be placed in a vivarium.

As it is a good climber, it will creep its way up. This prefers aerated organic soil. The soil which is loose when working is good for the underground roots. This plant can thrive in moderate to bright light. Direct Sunlight is harmful to oxycardium plants because it can grow better in dark places.

Fluorescent lights are good for it; if the leaves of plants are turning yellow, it is getting too much light. And the leggy stems are also the symbol of not receiving proper light.
